Driving License

#BelieveInMyself - 1

When I turned 17 years old, I was told to get a Driving License immediately. It's because I was a third-year senior high school student at that time, who was about to leave my city in a couple of months for further study journey. I have set my next study journey in ITB, in Bandung. So having a driving license beforehand is a good idea.

So my father instructed me that I need to go to the police office (* I forgot, to which office*) to register the license. Everything is good, I need to queue, wait till my turn is over, have some administrative work written, get myself taken photos, and done. And then, my driving license was on my hand now on that day.

I felt happy the process wasn't complicated at all and I could easily go home. But speaking of complicated, I asked  myselfwhy I'm not being driving tested here?! Just like Spongebob who takes hundred years to take a driving test in order to get a driving license. I was not really satisfied with a license that I got so easily. Why do the officers skip this important test on me? Why they do that? Is it because they feel unnecessary to do it? Or are they just being lazy??

Being confused, I got off my helm and my motorcycle, walk heading to that office and start questioning him. I almost abandon this questioning part, because I was scared of the police officer since I was a kid. but if I don't ask it clearly, I'll never be satisfied. So I continue the questioning part.
"Thank you for giving me this license, sir. But there's something that bothers me about the process"
"What is it, kid?"
"I'm well aware that we should be driving tested to get a license. so how come did I skip this part/"
"Oh well, it's okay kid. You don't have to. Many people are having difficulty to get a license"
"Yes sir. I'm grateful you gave it to me. But still, it doesn't answer my question, sir"
...
...
... ( *Long story short, at last, the conversation came to a conclusion like this*)
...
"Kid, try to ask your father". He smiled and leaved

How is this question related to my father? But at that point, I didn't have any nerves to ask more questions because I was still a bit scared to talk with that officer. So I ended up my curiosity and went home. After getting explained by my father, It became a complete make sense-story, that my father has given some 'oil' to that officer beforehand so that I got my license so easily.
===============================================================
From this event, I learn that I was actually courageous enough to have a long conversation with the police officer, whom the person that I was scared a lot. I feel that I did a good job to keep wandering my curiosity that drives me into facing my fear courageously. Good job to me.
